Young Karting talent Josh Turnbull will join the Milltek Civic Cup grid for the 2025 Finale next month, ahead of a planned 2026 entry.
Josh will join the Ben Sharpe-run BSR squad for the Brands Hatch finale on November 1-2, alongside regular drivers Jake Renshaw and Aidan Mitchell, in driving a Civic EP3.
Josh comes from a racing background, where both his grandfather and father were involved in various forms of motorsport, including hill climbing and rallying. Josh himself is the 2021 SuperKart One Champion and is finishing off the 2025 karting season in both the Wera Tools British Kart Championships and the Ultimate Karting Championship.
Having tested a Civic Cup car earlier in the year, getting laps in at both Donington Park and Snetterton, the plan is for Josh to return next year with BSR as a full-time entry and take on the challenge of the Civic Cup.
Josh himself is excited to graduate from Karting to Cars, following many other young drivers who have chosen the Milltek Civic Cup as their route into car racing before.
“I’m really grateful for the chance to join such a competitive championship in the Civic Cup, before embarking on my first full season next year. I’m excited to be working with Ben Sharpe and the BSR team, knowing that Brands Hatch will be a big test for me as I join in at the season finale,” said Josh.
“Racing has always been about having fun and enjoying the time on track throughout my family history, and the same applies to me. I’m looking forward to going out and enjoying my first weekend in the championship, before returning for the full 2026 season, ready to show what I can do.”
BSR Team owner Ben Sharpe is delighted to welcome Josh to the team.
“We are delighted to welcome Josh to BSR. He has proven himself to be a very talented Karter, and during his initial run in the Civic, he immediately impressed the team with his speed and adaptability,” said Ben.
“The Civic Cup is one of the toughest series in the UK, but we are confident Josh will rise to the challenge and be one to watch.”
Championship Manager Jack Finlan is pleased to see Josh move up to the Milltek Civic Cup for his first season in car racing.
“It’s great to see Josh graduate to the Milltek Civic Cup after a successful career in karting and choose this series as his first step in car racing,” explained Jack.
“We’ve welcomed many young drivers in recent seasons who have seen the Civic Cup as the first step into car racing and going on to bigger and better things in their career, showing what a great starting point it is. I look forward to seeing how Josh progresses in the season finale and next year.”
