Following the completion of his first season in the Milltek Civic Cup, Ben Bateman has confirmed that he will return for the 2026 season.
Driving for his family-run team, MWB Motorsport, next year means Ben already has familiarity with the team and a year’s worth of experience.
2025 was a learning year for Ben, with race finishes as his primary goal, whilst learning more about the car and the championship.
The team made real progress with the car during the summer break, where the MWB Motorsport driver returned to score two top-six class finishes in the Paul Winfield Trophy, a class for less experienced drivers in the Milltek Civic Cup.
The season starts at Brands Hatch next year on 4-5 April, meaning that Ben and the team are already working on what they can unlock from the car before it’s time to go racing again.
“I’ve learned so much about both the championship and the MWB Motorsport EP3 after my first year as a Civic Cup driver. Despite some early challenges during the first half of the year, we really moved forward at Oulton Park and Snetterton, and I was able to find more in the car as we went out each weekend,” explained Ben.
“I’ve had an enormous buzz each time I’ve been out on track in the EP3, and it’s been a great experience to get stuck in each weekend. As we work on the car over the winter, the aim for 2026 is to move forward and to get some top ten finishes, which will be hard work in such an exciting and competitive championship.”
Championship Manager Jack Finlan welcomes Ben back to the championship for what will be his second season in the Milltek Civic Cup.
“Ben’s confirmation is great news for the championship as he returns for a second season. The Civic Cup isn’t just about the big teams or the drivers who have the funding to go racing, but also the smaller teams and those drivers giving their best every weekend, for what is a hobby for them,” explained Jack.
“Ben’s entry means that we’ll see a number of first-year drivers coming back for a second consecutive season in the championship, wanting to take that next step towards the top ten or the podium. It’s clear from his improving performances this year that Ben will be one to watch in 2026.”
