Aidan Mitchell is the third driver to confirm that he will be staying on with BSR, as he looks ahead to a second season in the Milltek Civic Cup next year.
Aidan completed his first season with the team this year and, despite a challenging start to 2025, is ready to make significant strides in 2026.
A regular contender in the Paul Winfield Trophy for less experienced drivers, Aidan enjoyed two top-six finishes in the class before ending the season with his first PWT win at Brands Hatch last month, followed by a second class podium in the final race of the year.
Brands Hatch was also the BSR driver’s best weekend of the year, taking a seventh-place finish in race one and a sixth-place finish in race two.
With the 2026 season starting at the Kent venue in April, Aidan is clear about his goals and why he is pursuing them.
“I’m pleased to reveal my plans for returning to the Milltek Civic Cup next year, which provides me with a real chance of showing what I can do, especially as I’m staying with BSR for my second season,” said Aidan.
“Whilst my first season has had its hurdles, taking my first PWT win has shown that I can race comfortably inside the top six and I can go further. Next year, I’m aiming for race podiums and race wins, two targets I know that I can achieve.”
Championship Manager Jack Finlan is pleased to see Aidan make his return to the championship ahead of the new season.
“Aidan is one of the new drivers who has paved the way for making the direct transition from karting to car racing, a significant achievement itself when joining such a competitive championship for the first time,” said Jack.
“Having finished the year on a high, Aidan has shown his ability to work through every challenge he has faced and let his on-track performances do the talking. I look forward to seeing the progress he makes next year.”
