Organisers of the Milltek Sport Civic Cup are pleased to announce that the top three drivers in both the Cup and Production classes will receive a test drive in a TCR car as an end-of-season prize.
Following on from 2021, when the top three drivers in each class were awarded the opportunity to test a Maximum Motorsport-prepared TCR car, the championship promoters will once again, acknowledge the achievements of six Civic Cup drivers with this prize-winning drive.
Widely regarded as the best – and for those looking to progress in the sport the most coveted – prize in UK club motorsport, the six winners will receive coaching from experienced drivers from the 2022 TCR UK Championship.
Last year’s Cup Class Champion Alistair Camp and runner-up Matt Luff, together with Production Class front-runners Alfie and Harry Threlfall, each drove a VW Golf GTi TCR at an exclusive TCR UK test day at Donington in November. All four described the occasion as an experience they would never forget and said it provided them with an insight into touring car racing.
Maximum Motorsport owner and Milltek Sport Civic and TCR UK commented on awarding the prize drive for a second year in succession:
“The Milltek Sport Civic Cup is a highly competitive championship with large grids. So, to do well requires a great deal of commitment, skill and speed, whether you’re a Cup or Production class driver.
“We’re therefore pleased to acknowledge the achievements of the top three in both categories this year and give them a taste of what could realistically be their next move in the sport. Indeed, some drivers are making the transition from the Civic Cup into the TCR UK Championship for 2022 and we look forward to watching their progress.”
