Ryan Jenkinson evaluating full-time 2024 Civic Cup return ahead of Silverstone entry

Ben Sharpe Racing will be back in action next weekend, taking part in rounds 13, 14 & 15 of the 2023 Milltek Sport Civic Cup at Silverstone, with a new driver on board: Ryan Jenkinson.

Ryan took part in the Civic Cup ten years ago, driving an EG Generation Civic at Oulton Park on the International circuit, where he took two top-ten finishes.

Having kept an eye on the Civic Cup during recent years, which remains an official feeder series to the TCR UK Touring Car Championship for 2024, Ryan is ready to make a comeback after a recent test with Ben Sharpe Racing.

Ryan will be driving the same car that Dan MacDonald drove during the first half of the 2023 season, where Dan took the EP3 to a best finish of fourth place in the second race at Knockhill back in July.

With five races left to go in the 2023 season, with Silverstone providing the last chance for drivers to use up their two drop scores, the racing on the National layout is expected to be fast and frantic as Civic Cup makes its own return to the Northamptonshire venue since 2020.

Ben Sharpe Racing Team Principal Ben Sharpe is excited to have Ryan on board and to see how he progresses during the September event.

“We are really looking forward to working with Ryan, we had a solid test 2 weeks ago, and the pace was really good, considering he hasn’t been on track for some time.

“I’m sure he will improve every session again come race day as well.”

For Ryan, it’s a great chance to get back into the Civic Cup, as he evaluates a full-time return for the 2024 season.

“I am delighted to return to racing with the Civic Cup for the Silverstone round ahead of potentially competing in the full championship in 2024. My last car race was another one-off round of the Civic Cup in 2013 driving an EG generation Civic and I’ve been keeping tabs on the championship ever since.

“I can’t wait to sample the much more modern EP3 which has been immaculately prepared by Ben Sharpe Racing at the iconic Silverstone circuit.”
