Multiple TCR Title winner Josh Files will make his debut in the 2024 Milltek Sport Civic Cup, driving a Honda Civic EP3 for Area Motorsport.

Files will be part of the team’s full-season entry with further driver announcements to follow.

All visitors to this year’s Autosport International Show can view the car in all its glory in Hall 3 on Stand 3650, the TCR UK stand, across all four days of the show.

Running in a distinct blue livery, the former Clio Cup UK and Clio Euro Cup driver reunites with members of the team that took him to glory before he moved on to the global TCR stage, winning four titles in the process.

Rob Baker, Area Motorsport Team Principal, is excited to have Josh on board for the new season.

“Josh has been with the team for some time with our TCR programme and has worked with members of the team for over 10 years now. He drove one of our cup cars at Snetterton and came back with the biggest grin I’ve seen from him getting out a race car in some time,” said Rob.

“Subsequently this is what has led Josh to purchase a car from us and the racer in him wanting to partake in the 2024 season.

“We’re excited to have him on board for the year. Josh will fit in extremely well with our 2024 team already knowing all of them and will no doubt be a great help off the track too. He will have a challenge on his hands which is what Civic Cup always presents to anyone no matter the experience and I’m sure it’ll be an enjoyable and exciting season for him.”

Josh himself is looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of a Civic Cup car, after his test at Snetterton.

“I drove a civic cup last year thanks to Luke Sargeant. Never had so much fun, and pound for pound can’t think of a car so impressive.

Naturally, Area Motorsport are like a second family to me, so why wouldn’t I do Civic Cup with people I know, with winning pedigree and quite frankly with the best team on the grid!”
