Two-time TCR UK champion Lewis Kent will take on the Milltek Sport Civic Cup in his first full-season campaign, driving for the Area Motorsport squad.

Lewis made his debut in the championship last year, where he drove at the final two events of the season at Silverstone and the Brands Hatch Finale.

Taking a best finish of third place in the first race of the day at Brands Hatch, Lewis is now back to take on the championship in a full season capacity.

Staying on with Area Motorsport, the Essex-based driver will also be behind the wheel of the Civic EP3, the same car that he used last year.

With the 2024 season starting at Brand Hatch, using the Indy circuit, Lewis already knows both the car and the team, which gives him a good solid start.

He also joins a very strong Area Motorsport Civic Cup lineup that includes Silverstone race winner Sam Kirkpatrick, multiple TCR Champion Josh Files and 2023 Civic Cup Champion Max Edmundson.

Lewis is eager to get the season underway and also looks ahead to what he’ll be aiming for in 2024.

“Having raced with Area Motorsport in the last two rounds of the Civic Cup last year, I’m really excited to be doing a full-year campaign with the team and challenge for the title,” said Lewis.

“We have a very strong team who have won multiple championships worldwide between all of our drivers, so we will definitely be pushing hard for the top step in each round.”

Team Principal Rob Baker welcomes Lewis to the team in a full-time role for this year.

“It was great to have Lewis with us for a couple of rounds last season and to see him get back to enjoying racing. At Brands Hatch he managed to secure his first Civic Cup podium after a fantastic battle, even with an engine we later found to be down on power,” explained Rob.

“He is back in the same car this season with a new engine and we are confident Lewis will be up the sharp end of the grid this year challenging for the top spots.”
