Dave Marshall and Mark Hughes return with FN2 Civics for 2024

Dave Marshall and Mark Hughes are back for the 2024 season of the Milltek Sport Civic Cup, running under the banner of DMR with KA Car Sales.

Both drivers are staying with the Civic FN2 for the new season, which gets underway at Brands Hatch on 13-14 April, using the Indy circuit.

2023 was a landmark year for the Civic FN2 in the championship, as Dave took the car to its first outright race win since the 2019 season, taking victory in the second race at Cadwell Park.

Following that up with further podium appearances, the DMR with KA Car Sales Civic FN2 showed that it can compete with the already popular EP3 Civic that dominates the championship grids.

2023 was also a positive year for Mark, as he led the fight for the Goodyear Diamond Award in his DMR with KA Car Sales Civic FN2 during the first half of the season. Despite a season-ending crash at Silverstone, Mark was in the hunt for the title until missing the final event at Brands Hatch.

The performances of the FN2 from last year have led to several more joining the grid in 2024, with Dave looking to improve on his performance from last year.

“We developed the car throughout 2023 and found more pace as we worked through the season. The high point for the team and myself was the race win at Cadwell Park, however to achieve further podiums also proves that isn’t wasn’t down to luck,” Dave explained.

“Having done some testing over the winter, we return confident for 2024 that the FN2 has more in it, however being one of the smaller teams on the grid, we’re also working very hard with what we have. I hope to return to the top step of the podium this year, but being upfront with the bigger teams would be a further step forward.”

For Mark, who returns to the championship alongside Dave, it’s about staying competitive and making progress forward this year.

“2023 proved to me that I took a step forward with the FN2, as well as being able to challenge for the higher positions against the EP3 drivers. The Civic Cup is a tough championship where nothing is a given, so I aim to move up the field again this season,” explained Mark.

“Having more experience with the car and seeing Dave take the victory at Cadwell Park is a huge inspiration to push myself further this year. Whilst the Goodyear Diamond Award is one of the titles I’ll be fighting for, I’m ready to move up the field and score regular top ten finishes.”
