Liam McGill will be back in the Milltek Sport Civic Cup for 2024, staying with Area Motorsport after making a sensational debut on home turf at Knockhill.

The Fife-based driver, who took part at Knockhill and the Brands Hatch Finale last season, will be taking part in his first full season with the team, sticking with the Civic EP3 that he drove last year.

Liam showcased his talents clearly by taking the reverse grid race win in the Knockhill triple-header as well as enjoying a positive return as he competed in the last two races of the season on the Indy circuit at Brands Hatch.

Liam completes the six-driver lineup at Area Motorsport this year, joining the already announced Sam Kirkpatrick, Josh Files, Lewis Kent, 2021 Champion Alistair Camp and 2023 Civic Cup Champion Max Edmundson.

The 2024 Milltek Sport Civic Cup gets underway at Brands Hatch, using the Indy circuit, on 13-14 March, which will be the start of a 17-race season which ends at Silverstone, on the International circuit in October.

Liam is very glad to be given the chance to return to the Civic Cup full-time and cannot wait to get the season started.

“I’m looking forward to coming racing for the full year in 2024. After having a trial weekend at Knockhill in 2023 with Area Motorsport, there was no looking back and I knew I needed to make it my priority to ensure I was on the grid with the Civic Cup for 2024,” explained Liam.

“I’m looking forward to working with Area Motorsport again, and this season wouldn’t have been possible without McGill Motorsport also, who will be featured all over the car. The full team at Area Motorsport have been very welcoming which has also helped to make my decision easier!”

“My hope for the new season is to finish within the top five of the championship, given it will be our first full year. I’ve already experienced how competitive the Civic Cup is and I’ll be giving it my all to try and secure another race win this season.”
