Garry Townsend switches to Civic Cup for 2024 with Pro Alloys Racing

Garry Townsend will make his debut in the Milltek Sport Civic Cup at Oulton Park as he joins Pro Alloys Racing for the remainder of the 2024 season.

Garry will be at the wheel of a Civic EP3 as he makes the switch across to the TCR UK feeder series this weekend.

Having a wealth of motorsport experience behind him, in touring cars, sportscars and single make racing, the Warwickshire based driver will join the very competitive Civic Cup grid, which has seen several new faces make their debut this year.

Townsend joins the Pro Alloys lineup which includes podium finishers Owen Hillman and Alex Kite, as well as rookies Aydan Hassan, Wesley Swain and Harry England, with both Swain and England driving the Civic FN2 model.

Townsend will also join the fight for the Goodyear Diamond Award, for drivers who are 40 and over, as well as being eligible for the Paul Winfield Trophy, giving the Civic EP3 pilot further chances for glory.

Having competed in TCR UK last season in his Townsend Motorsport run Audi Gen2, Garry looks ahead to making his debut this weekend at Oulton Park, taking on the challenge of the Milltek Sport Civic Cup.

“The Milltek Sport Civic Cup is one of the strongest single-make championships in the UK and I’m looking forward to joining the grid this weekend. The racing is second to none and I’m excited to be a part of the Pro Alloys Racing lineup,” said Garry.

“I’m under no illusion, the racing is hard and fast in the Civic Cup with an incredibly talented field this year and a very high level of competitiveness. The racing so far this year has shown how hard you have to work for success. I’m very grateful to Pro Alloys Racing for giving me the chance to get involved.”
