McGill sets his sights on the 2025 Milltek Sport Civic Cup title

Liam McGill returns to the Milltek Sport Civic Cup next year with one goal: winning the 2025 title.

Liam will stay on board with Area Motorsport for a second consecutive year, believing that this will put him in the best possible position to achieve his goal.

Making his debut in the championship in 2023, Liam was on the pace right away, taking one win out of three races at his home event in Knockhill that season and proving to be a front-runner during his wildcard entries that season.

The Fife-based driver had a difficult start to the 2024 season and was forced to miss out the Silverstone National weekend entirely. Despite this, Liam’s results improved, and he ended the season in sixth place in the Drivers’ Championship, taking a best finish of second place twice, at Snetterton and Thruxton.

The consistency of staying with the same team and car is one reason behind Liam aiming for the title next year.

“My main focus for the 2025 Milltek Sport Civic Cup is clear: to win the championship. After a season of growth and learning in 2024, I’m determined to carry that momentum forward,” said Liam.

“Consistent improvement was the key to finishing strong last year, and I plan to build on that foundation. To hit the ground running, I’ll be focusing on pre-season testing to ensure I’m fully up to speed and ready to compete at the highest level from the very first race.”

“Staying with Area for another season was an easy decision. Their dedication, expertise, and commitment to excellence have been critical to my development as a driver,” explains Liam.

“I truly believe they are the best team to support my championship ambitions in 2025, and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together.”

Milltek Sport Civic Cup Championship Promoter Stewart Lines welcomes Liam as the latest addition to the 2025 grid.

“It’s great to see Liam come back for his second season in the championship. He has been a front-runner since he made his debut and I look forward to seeing Liam challenge for the title next year,” explained Stewart.
