Graham Ross has taken the decision to join the Milltek Civic Cup grid for 2025, having been inspired by the action and excitement of the championship.
Graham will join the series in his GR Motorsport family-run team, where he will be behind the wheel of a Civic FN2, a model that is growing in popularity.
Backed by main sponsor Write On Sign & Display, part of the attraction for Graham was seeing the increased competitiveness of the FN2 last year, as well as the exciting on-track racing for which the Civic Cup is well known.
Starting his Motorsport adventure back in 1997 with the Scottish XR2 Championship, Graham then moved on to the MG Trophy in 2008. Having competed there for the last seventeen years, the Civic Cup now presents a new challenge for him to take on.
Graham explains his reasons behind the move to the Civic Cup this year.
“I felt it was time for a new challenge before I got my bus pass! The Civic Cup presses many of the right buttons for me – single make, FWD hatchback with a high revving naturally aspirated engine, tight regulations and a good sized grid. I am under no illusion; it will be very difficult to be competitive with such a strong lineup of drivers and teams,” explained Graham.
“I am genuinely excited for the new challenge and really looking forward to learning and developing the FN2. Everyone I have spoken to in or involved with at the championship has been very friendly and helpful, and the social media and excellent live streaming are also big pluses, in my opinion.”
Championship Promoter Stewart Lines welcomes Graham on board ahead of the new season.
“The popularity and competitive nature of the Civic Cup is attracting new drivers for 2025, which includes the option to use the FN2 now that this is equal to the EP3 on track,” said Stewart.
“It’s great to see Graham join the championship; we always welcome new drivers and teams on board and it’s great to see a new FN2 on the grid as well.”
