Will Butt and Anthony Gannon join forces for 2025

Will Butt and Anthony Gannon have taken the decision to join forces ahead of the 2025 Milltek Civic Cup season.

Both drivers will continue with their Civic EP3 cars, with Will running under the Will Buttsy Racing with DCCR banner, whilst Anthony continues under the family-run team name of Detail Car Care Racing.

Last year was a difficult year for Anthony, who missed most of the season due to business commitments. Despite this, the Wiltshire-based driver is raring to go in what will be his third season in the championship.

A self-confessed Civic Cup superfan, Anthony made his debut in 2023 and has continued improving over the last two seasons. For 2025, the aim is to challenge for the Goodyear Diamond Award title whilst working to move up the grid.

Both men began working together last year to help Will improve over each race weekend in what was his debut season in the Milltek Civic Cup. Making progress throughout the season meant that Will was on the cusp of a top-ten finish by the end of the 2024 season.

Anthony and Will both take part in family-run teams, and that doesn’t change for 2025. However, that is also part of the enjoyment of being part of the Milltek Civic Cup paddock, as Anthony explains.

“Will and I bonded over last season at the events I attended. We both really enjoy being a part of the paddock and going racing. We both have family-oriented teams and love the atmosphere that brings to every race weekend,” explained Gannon.

“We still want to go for the best results when we go racing. This year I’m going for the Goodyear Diamond Award title as my main focus. In previous years, it’s been about racing and developing for me. This year, we go racing seriously.”

The chance to work full-time with Anthony in 2025 is one that Will couldn’t turn down, and he is looking to be further up the grid for what will be his second year.

“Working with Anthony is a big positive. We are good mates and when he was a spectator at events last year, he was coaching and supporting me with how I could improve in my first year in the championship,” explained Will.

“Considering where I started in 2024 at Brands Hatch, I made progress, despite driving some of the tracks for the first time. Now that we’re working together, under the same awning at each event, we can compare data and help each other improve. I’m aiming to get a top-ten finish and where possible, a reverse grid pole to see what I can do at the front.”

Championship Promoter Stewart Lines is pleased to see both Will and Anthony come back for the 2025 season.

“The Milltek Civic Cup is all about being part of a fun championship that’s incredibly competitive on track and a great atmosphere off track. It’s great to see both Will and Anthony return for the new season and work together,” said Stewart.

“Both Will and Anthony have experience behind them, of the cars and the championship. I look forward to seeing how they progress this year.”
