Ben Bateman will make his debut in this year’s Milltek Civic Cup season, driving for his family-run team, MWB Motorsport.
Ben makes the step up from racing in the Classic Stock Hatch championship last year to take on the TCR Feeder Series as he completes preparation on the Civic EP3 that he’ll be racing this year.
The MWB Motorsport driver began his career on short ovals at the age of eleven, racing in Ministox. He then moved up to compete in BRISCA F2 oval racing when he was sixteen, where he took multiple wins.
The move to circuit racing took place three years later, where Ben took victory in a Vauxhall Nova GTE on his debut in the Classic Stock Hatch championship, racing there for another three years.
After trying out a Civic EP3 last year as part of a test day, the decision was made there and then to move up to the Milltek Civic Cup for 2025.
“I am looking forward to my debut season in the Milltek Civic Cup this year in my EP3. I have aspirations to work up through the ranks of motorsport and feel this is a great further step in the right direction,” explained Ben.
“I will be representing our family race team, MWB Motorsport, which has progressed from oval racing into circuit racing. I also want to take this opportunity to thank all of my sponsors
and family who make doing what I love possible.”
Ben’s entry is supported by:
MWB Motorsport, PDC Racing, Giraffe Distillers, KST Trailers & Fabrication, Autopitstop, MJA Automotive Engineering, Se7en Motorsports, Steel Seal, Power Maxed and Signs & Graphics.
Championship Promoter Stewart Lines welcomes Ben and the team to the grid for 2025.
“It’s great to see Ben joining the Milltek Civic Cup this year, along with the family team. It’s clear to see that the championship is growing in reputation as we welcome new drivers and teams ahead of the new season,” said Stewart.
“We are welcoming drivers from many different racing backgrounds, all making the step up to take one of the most competitive one-make tin-top championships in the country.”
