Jake Hewlett joins Area Motorsport for Milltek Civic Cup debut

Jake Hewlett will make his debut in the 2025 Milltek Civic Cup, as the grid grows further still ahead of the opening weekend of the championship.

Jake will join the successful Area Motorsport outfit for his first year in the TCR Feeder Series, where all the stars have aligned for him after trying to join the grid in previous seasons.

Driving a Civic EP3, Jake will be in familiar territory as he previously drove the same model three years ago, when contesting the Type R Trophy. Working as part of the family run team, the Leicestershire based driver took the title in his first year, an impressive achievement in any level of motorsport.

Before making his car racing debut in 2021, Jake was heavily involved in Sim Racing, where he scored a number of driver titles in different eSeries between 2016 and 2018. Jake also provides driver coaching in the Sim Racing world and in real world motorsport.

Whilst previous attempts to join the Milltek Civic Cup have been thwarted due to various reasons, Jake is extremely excited to have his chance to join what is recognised as one of the toughest one-make tin-top club racing championships in the UK.

“I’m so excited to finally get the chance to be part of the grid in the Milltek Civic Cup, there has been a lot of hard work over previous seasons to try and get on board and we’re finally doing it this year,” said Jake.

“Although I know a lot about the EP3 Civic, I’ve been watching the Civic Cup over the last five years or so and I know it’s an incredibly competitive championship. So in my first year, I’m ready to learn about the car and the racing as well as working together with Area Motorsport. My aim is to work my way up the grid as the season progresses to knock on the top ten and cause a few surprises.”

Championship Promoter Stewart Lines is delighted to see Jake join the championship for 2025.

“The Milltek Civic Cup welcomes new drivers this year from different racing backgrounds and Jake is another example of a driver who joins us this year with an impressive CV of racing behind him,” said Stewart.

“It’s well known that the Civic Cup is a very competitive championship, offering hard and exciting racing between the two models in the series. I wish Jake all the best as he prepares for the start of his debut season.”
