Wesley Swain has moved across to Area Motorsport for the 2025 Milltek Civic Cup season.
After taking two Paul Winfield Trophy wins in his debut season, including second place overall in the penultimate race of 2024, Wesley will now continue driving his Civic FN2 with the Rob Baker-led squad.
This means that Area Motorsport will have two Civic FN2’s in their lineup as Alistair Camp campaigns the same car for a second season.
This move has provided Wesley with the chance to get some testing in over the winter break as he learns to work with the team.
The 2025 season gets underway this weekend at Donington Park, where the first two rounds of the year will take place on the National circuit.
Wesley spoke about the move during the test day on Friday at the Leicestershire circuit
“Things change in Motorsport all the time and I’m very grateful for everything I learned last year,” said Wesley.
“Joining Area is a fantastic opportunity, and I’m looking forward to putting everything I know to good use as I aim to add to my podium tally from last year. Testing has gone really well so now its time to go racing and fight for podiums.”
Championship Promoter Stewart Lines spoke about Wesley moving teams before the season opener.
“Motorsport is an ever-changing landscape, and sometimes things change, especially during the off-season. Despite this, it’s good to see Wesley find a home at Area,” said Stewart.
“As a successful young driver with podium finishes to his credit from his first season, Wesley has shown he has the talent to adapt to the Milltek Civic Cup and I look forward to seeing him make more progress this year.”
