Brands Hatch Firework Finale to decide 2025 Milltek Civic Cup title fight

The Milltek Civic Cup reaches its 2025 season finale at Brands Hatch this weekend (1-2 November) with three drivers in contention for the title.

Liam McGill, Alistair Camp and Lewis Kent will lock horns to decide who will be the 2025 Milltek Civic Cup champion in a blockbuster showdown double-header around the 1.2-mile Indy circuit set in a natural amphitheatre.

All three drivers are part of the crack Area Motorsport team, guaranteeing Rob Baker’s squad a sixth consecutive drivers’ title.

Scotsman McGill heads to Kent with a 13-point lead in the standings after scoring 87 out of a maximum 88 points in a commanding display last time out at Snetterton. With six wins aboard his EP3 model Honda Civic Type R this year, the Fife native must start as a marginal favourite to lift the crown.

Camp, second in the standings, is the experienced hand. Champion in 2021, Camp’s consistently blistering pace has qualified him on the front row of the grid at every round this year and taken him to three wins. With 88 points left on the table, you can be sure he’ll be hustling his FN2 Civic to wring every last ounce of performance from his car.

Starting the weekend 58 points adrift of McGill, Kent is the outsider. The Essex racer wouldn’t wish misfortune on his team-mates, but that’s what it will require if the two-time TCR UK champion is to add a Civic Cup title to his CV. Kent was the man to beat when the Milltek Civic Cup visited Brands Hatch earlier in the year, winning the opening race before misfortune struck. He can only target more race wins and then see where that leaves him.

Area Motorsport’s other two regulars, Wesley Swain and Jake Hewlett, will be snapping at their team-mates’ heels as they seek maiden victories and momentum for 2026. Completing the team’s line-up this weekend is one-time Mini Se7en champion Charlie Budd. Familiar with the squad from his racing elsewhere, Budd will aim to hit the ground running ahead of a full campaign next year.

Ben Sharpe Racing will be fielding an expanded fleet of four cars. Team regulars Jake Renshaw and Aidan Mitchell are due some luck to go with their pace in what has been a promising first season for the teenage duo. Spencer Stevenson makes his second appearance of the season after impressing last time out, as karting graduate Josh Turnbull completes the line-up for his senior debut.

Another multi-car team is FN2 specialist Dave Marshall’s DMR with KA Car Sales. Marshall himself leads the line-up, joined by Mark Hughes and young gun Harry England. Hughes’s focus will be on completing a successful defence of the Goodyear Diamond Award title, for drivers aged 40 and over. A lead of 59 points over Adam Jackson (AMW Motorsport) puts him in a strong position.

MJB Motorsport’s Jack Ruddell holds an even healthier advantage in the Paul Winfield Trophy standings for rookies and less experienced drivers. Ruddell scored his maiden overall victory in the Easter meeting at Brands Hatch. He’s had some tough times since then, but two top-six finishes at Snetterton put him back on track.

Brothers Jamie and Daniel Petters (Team Petters Racing) are the only drivers who can stop Ruddell taking the PWT honours, but they have a lot of ground to make up. Both have impressed with their efforts and attitude in the family-run team this year.

Josh Bromley (Bromley Motorsport) had been a PWT contender, but two non-finishes at Oulton Park proved costly. The former Mazda and MG racer has found himself challenging the overall frontrunners on an increasingly regular basis and will be targeting a second overall podium finish this weekend.

The Vinna Sport team’s tie-up with SVG Motorsport should help drivers Charlotte Birch and Francisco Howitt benefit from deeper resources at their disposal.

Will Butt had one of his best weekends ever when the Milltek Civic Cup visited Brands Hatch earlier this year. That should fill him with confidence going into the weekend and will no doubt boost stablemate Anthony Gannon too.

Charlie Constable returns to the Orex Competition squad for the final event of the year, getting a second chance at racing on the Indy circuit after his first visit back in April. Ben Bateman’s steady improvement this year was rewarded with his best points haul yet last time out at Snetterton, and he will be looking to add to that this weekend.

Adam Parker and Graham Ross are due a change of fortune in somewhat bumpy debut seasons in the Milltek Civic Cup. After a very tough year, two-time MG Trophy champion Ross will surely be happy just to see the chequered flag in both races.

The action at Brands Hatch begins with Qualifying at 1015 hrs on Saturday (1 November).

The Pit Lane Walkabout is back for the final weekend of the season, giving fans the chance to meet and greet the drivers during the lunch break on Saturday.

The Milltek Civic Cup is back on track at 1335hrs that afternoon for Round 16 of the championship. The finale comes 24 hours later, with Round 17 – the reversed-grid race – taking place at 1345hrs on Sunday (2 November).

A fantastic weekend of action comes to a close with the spectacular fireworks display on Sunday, which is definitely one not to be missed.

Nothing beats being trackside at Kent’s historic grand prix venue, but all the action will also be screened live on BARC’s YouTube channel.
