Charlie Budd is eager to get his first full season in the Milltek Civic Cup started next year, after making his championship debut during the 2025 finale at Brands Hatch.
Charlie joined the Area Motorsport squad for the outing, having previously raced with them in the Audi TT Cup before making the switch with the same outfit, seeing the Milltek Civic Cup is the next step in his motorsport career.
Brands Hatch proved to be an inspiring debut for the Oxfordshire-based driver, as he took his Civic EP3 to a top twelve finish, learning about the car and the championship across the weekend.
Charlie is set to work through a winter testing programme, before returning the Kent venue for the start of the 2026 season on 4-5 April.
“Racing in the Civic Cup finale at Brands Hatch was a great experience and one I can’t wait to repeat again when I return to the championship next year for my first full season. I’ve always enjoyed racing in the pack, and taking an important top twelve finish in the final race of the year has left me wanting more,” explained Charlie.
“I’m excited to be a part of the Milltek Civic Cup at a time when the championship is so strong in both talent and grid numbers. Staying with Area Motorsport for next year, we’ll be working on the car and getting some testing in during the off-season. Next year, I aim to take more top ten finishes, so there is plenty of work to do.”
Championship Manager Jack Finlan is pleased to see Charlie announce his full-time return to the series next year, as momentum gathers following the opening of registrations for the new season.
“It’s great to see Charlie confirm his entry for 2026, having enjoyed his first weekend in the championship during our biggest event of the year. The progress Charlie made across the event was impressive, considering the challenge that was set before him,” explained Jack.
“Registrations opened last week for the 2026 Milltek Civic Cup, and we are seeing a lot of new talent signing up for next year. We are witnessing a new period of growth for what is recognised as the toughest one-make time-top championship in UK Motorsport, and I’m excited for the new season.”
