Charlie Budd set for Milltek Civic Cup debut in Brands Hatch Finale

Charlie Budd will make his debut in the Milltek Civic Cup during the Brands Hatch finale, ahead of a planned 2026 full-season entry.

Driving a Civic EP3, Charlie will be part of the Area Motorsport driver lineup, having already driven for them in the Audi TT Cup Racing Championship.

Beginning his journey in Motorsport at the age of 14 via Junior Rallycross, the Oxfordshire-based driver soon moved on to Mini Seven racing, where he took the 2017 driver’s title.

The following years saw Charlie compete in the Mini Miglia series, the Ginetta GT5 Championship, and the Legends Cars National Championship, providing a diverse range of challenges.

After spending 2024 and most of 2025 in Audi TTs, Charlie has made the switch to the Civic Cup for the final weekend of 2025 and has already committed to a full-season entry for 2026 by purchasing his own Civic.

Having watched the championship with increased interest, Charlie decided that the Civic Cup is the next step in his career.

“I’m excited to be joining the Milltek Civic Cup at Brands Hatch in November, where I can’t wait to get stuck in and see how I fare with the rest of the field. It’s a competitive championship that always has close racing and exciting on-track action, two of the reasons why I’ve made the move,” said Charlie.

“Working with Area, I’ve seen how they work and how successful they are. Speaking with the team about the Civic Cup and seeing the cars in action, I found that they suit my driving style. Brands Hatch is a toe in the water exercise before the off-season testing begins, ready to give it my all next year.”

Championship Manager Jack Finlan welcomes Charlie aboard ahead of his debut in the Brands Hatch Finale in November.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome Charlie to the Milltek Civic Cup during a time when the championship is enjoying one of its strongest and closest seasons yet,” explained Jack.

“The Milltek Civic Cup is already recognised as one of the toughest one-make championships in UK Club racing, providing a strong challenge to those who take part. I wish Charlie all the best in his first weekend and look forward to seeing what he can do next year.”
