Alistair Camp confirms he’ll be back in the 2026 Civic Cup

If it ain’t broke, then it doesn’t need fixing, as the old saying goes.

Alistair Camp has confirmed that he will be back for the 2026 Civic Cup, staying on board at Area Motorsport and sticking with the FN2 model, which he will drive for a third straight season.

Camp has competed in the Civic Cup for the last seven years and has been a race winner for most of that period. Taking the title in 2021 in the EP3 model, the Derby-based driver is ready to take the FN2 to the top step in 2026.

Having been part of the heated title battle in 2025, where he was up against Area Motorsport teammate and eventual champion Liam McGill, Camp took 13 podium finishes, including three race wins, as well as five fastest laps and four pole positions.

2026 has a different look, as Camp will be joined by a range of new and returning drivers, including the already announced Wesley Swain, Sean McGovern, Francisco Howitt, and Charlie Budd. The Next Generation of drivers have arrived and are ready to take the fight to the former title winner.

As the clock counts down to the season getting underway at Brands Hatch on 4-5 April, Alistair is excited to go racing once more, but it’s also about the enjoyment behind the scenes that means as much to him.

“I’m delighted to be coming back to the Civic Cup this year, where I’m staying on with Area Motorsport and back in the FN2. 2025 really showed how far the championship has progressed. Regardless of what location we are racing at, the Civic Cup Paddock is about having fun and working well together, and that’s one of many reasons I enjoy racing in the championship,” said Alistair.

“Following the progress that we made last year, 2026 is about getting on the top step of the podium as often as possible and maintaining consistency against what is a large, strong and very competitive field, which is great to be a part of. It’s a long season, so we’ll come out fighting and see how things look when we come back to Brands Hatch at the end of the year.”

Championship Manager Jack Finlan welcomes Camp back to the Civic Cup ahead of what is looking to be its strongest year yet.

“It’s great to see Alistair announce his return to the Civic Cup for 2026. He is one of the top drivers in the championship and stayed in the hunt for the title all the way to the final race, following two years of development work, turning the car into a real title contender,” explained Jack.

“Alistair is part of a strong lineup of drivers who are contesting the 2026 season, which will be the biggest and most competitive year yet for the Civic Cup. As we get closer to the season opener at Brands Hatch, I’m excited by the number of entries and the interest in the championship. I wish Alistair all the best.”
