Karting Superstar Freddie Ingram has signed for BSR ahead of making his debut in the 2026 Civic Cup this weekend.
Freddie will be driving one of the team’s EP3 Civics, as he makes the move directly from racing in Karting and into Car racing, as part of the bumper grid that will take part on the Indy circuit at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend.
Freddie began his karting career in 2021 and was soon winning championship titles in 2022 and 2023 in the UK. Competing in both the UK and the European Karting scene, Ingram also holds the honour of winning the 2024 Whilton Mill Plate and finishing in third place in the British O Plate event.
2026 will be Freddie’s first year in Car racing, as he joins the ultra-competitive Civic Cup as part of the Ben Sharpe Racing squad, who have expanded their entry for this year.
Freddie is already preparing for his debut, as he looks ahead to a season in which he joins a front-running team and will gain a lot of experience over the 17 rounds ahead.
“I’m incredibly excited to be competing in the Civic Cup this season. It’s a fantastic championship with close, competitive racing, and I’m proud to be part of such a strong grid,” said Freddie.
“With a late entry and no testing as of yet, we’re focused on being consistent, learning every race, and pushing for strong results. I’m looking forward to getting out on track and representing everyone who’s supporting me this year, including sending a big thank you for the continued sponsorship from Southwood Roofing and DW Carpentry.”
Team owner Ben Sharpe is very happy to have Ingram on board ahead of the new season.
“We’re really excited to have Freddy on board. He showed great speed in karting, and while Round 1 will be a challenge with just one test day, we’re confident he’ll keep improving and be one to watch as the season unfolds.”
Championship Manager Jack Finlan is delighted to see Freddie join the grid for the 2026 season, following a number of young drivers who have also made the step up from Karting to the Civic Cup.
“Freddie has joined the Civic Cup for the new season, and it’s great to have him on the grid, as he works hard ahead of his car racing debut. Freddie is a proven title winner in Karting as he takes the next step in his young career. We’ve already seen the huge interest from young drivers looking to join the championship, and I look forward to seeing how his first season goes,” explained Jack.
“Working with Ben Sharpes’ team will also provide Freddie with a firm platform to begin with, as they have a lot of experience in the championship and have worked with many drivers who have gone on to see a lot of success in tin top racing. As we build up to the weekend, I am very excited to see one of our largest ever grids line up to start the 2026 season.”
